Balance is a key benefit of yoga. Its three essential elements are alignment, strength, and attention. Alignment of the body with gravity is crucial; it makes balance physically possible. Strength gives us the power to create, hold, and adjust alignment. And attention to the breath continually monitors alignment so we know how to correct it from one moment to the next. This involves focussing the eyes on a still point in the near distance.
Make sure you have a wall or chair nearby in case. Take your time – move into each pose slowly and remain completely aware of what your entire body is doing. Work on each pose from the ground up: Start with aligning your feet, then legs, torso, arms and head. Keep your mind relaxed and focus on your breathing. Find stability while moving into, in and out of the poses. Learn more clicking here
In general, apart from a yoga mat, Rob usually uses two wooden or plastic blocks, two thinner foam blocks, an 8 foot yoga strap, a yoga blanket and a yoga bolster. These are not essential but recommended for a better experience. You can purchase the props here.
