The Benefits of Twists in Yoga
Twisting poses play a vital role in promoting spinal health, improving mobility, and enhancing body awareness. In my teaching, I use twists to support healthy rotation through the spine while emphasizing stability in the pelvis and lower back. Twists help stimulate circulation to the abdominal organs, aid in digestion, and improve proprioception. They also balance the nervous system and provide a refreshing sense of release and renewal, making them especially valuable in practices aimed at healthy aging.

In general, apart from a yoga mat, Rob uses two wooden or plastic blocks, two thinner foam blocks, an 8 foot yoga strap, a yoga blanket and a yoga bolster. These are not essential but recommended for a better experience. They can be bought on the resources page here.
