Welcome to Rob's Yoga at the Wall Class! Practicing Yoga at the wall offers several benefits:
- Alignment and Awareness: Practicing poses against a wall allows you to align your body accurately. You can use the wall as a reference point to ensure that your body is in the correct position.
- Stability and Support: The wall provides a stable surface to lean against, making it easier to hold poses for a longer duration. This is particularly helpful for beginners or individuals with limited flexibility or strength, as they can gradually build stability and strength over time.
- Deepening Stretches: The wall can be used to deepen stretches by providing a gentle resistance to press against. This can help open up tight areas of the body and improve flexibility gradually and safely.
- Restorative Practice: The wall can be used for restorative poses like Viparita Karani (Legs up the wall pose), where you use the support of the wall to relax and release tension in the body. This can be especially beneficial for stress relief and relaxation.
In general, apart from a yoga mat, Rob uses two wooden or plastic blocks, two thinner foam blocks, an 8 foot yoga strap, a yoga blanket and a yoga bolster. These are not essential but recommended for a better experience.
